Adblue (DEF)

If you accidentally put AdBlue in your fuel tank or fuel in your AdBlue tank, it can lead to significant damage to your vehicle's systems. Here's what you should do in each scenario:

  1. AdBlue in Fuel Tank:

    • Do not turn on the ignition or start the engine to prevent further damage.

    • AdBlue can cause costly damage to the fuel tank, pump, and injection system.

    • Contact The Fuel Drainer immediately for assistance.

    • Avoid attempting to remove AdBlue yourself as it is corrosive, and improper handling can exacerbate the situation.

    • AdBlue needs to be removed quickly and flushed correctly to avoid any serious damage to the fuel system/ engine.

  2. Fuel in AdBlue Tank:

    • Similarly, do not turn on the ignition or start the engine to prevent damage.

    • Starting the engine with fuel in the AdBlue tank could necessitate the replacement of the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) and AdBlue injection system.

    • Contact professional assistance immediately to address the issue.

    • Refrain from attempting to start the engine until the problem is resolved to prevent further damage.

In both cases, prompt action and professional assistance are crucial to minimize damage and ensure the proper functioning of your vehicle.
